Pizza, Football and Human Rights: VITO Europaallee Launches the First-Ever Pizza Peace Prize
Football has the power to bring people together – and to spark important conversations. This summer, VITO Europaallee is doing exactly that with a unique initiative taking place during the FIFA World Cup.
Together with Amnesty International and the Sports & Rights Alliance, VITO is awarding the very first Pizza Peace Prize. The award aims to raise awareness of the human rights risks associated with the FIFA Men’s World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada, and to highlight the risk of major sporting events being used as a platform for authoritarian interests.
The prize will be presented during a public panel discussion:
📅 Tuesday, 24 June 2026
🕢 7:30 pm
📍 VITO Europaallee, Zurich
Participants have the chance to win the unique Pizza Peace Prize trophy, a VITO gift voucher worth CHF 200 and an exclusive VITO football jersey.
