Healthy thanks to sport

Active in harmony with body and mind

Physical activity has a positive effect on our physical health and well-being in various ways. The main effects are:

  • Promotion of muscle development
  • Strengthening bone density
  • Positive effect on the cardiovascular system
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Improved mental well-being

You should pay attention to this during sport

With these recommendations you will achieve the best effect with your sporting activities:

1. Warm-up phase
This is part of the training routine. This prepares us physically and mentally for the upcoming sports session and minimises the risk of injury at the same time.

2. Strength and endurance
Combine strength and endurance training. This will improve your overall health and performance level. Make sure you maintain a good balance between strength and endurance units.

3. Frequency and intensity
Adapt the frequency and intensity of the training sessions to your personal fitness level. Excessive intensity or too frequent training without sufficient recovery can lead to fatigue and injury. On the other hand, too little training means that you will not make any significant progress. You need regular breaks and recovery periods to ensure that you remain efficient and motivated in the long term.

4. Breathing
Conscious, controlled breathing improves your training experience. Adapt your breathing technique to the respective sport. This improves oxygen uptake, increases endurance and helps your body to regenerate more quickly. Continuous breathing also helps you to avoid pressurised breathing at higher exertion levels, which could lead to a sharp rise in blood pressure. For optimum oxygen uptake, it is important that you breathe regularly, in rhythm with your movement.

5. Regeneration
We often underestimate the importance of rest breaks for training. However, they play a central role. Our body must be able to recover from the strain so that it can optimally integrate the training session. Consciously observe how regeneration affects your body and mind.

6. Exercise in everyday life
Not just sport – any movement in everyday life is healthy. The latter can be integrated into our daily routine with little effort. The more we move, the more we enjoy it. Physical activity promotes physical and mental health and also reduces the risk of chronic diseases.
